James On Stage

Acting

James began acting when he tried it on a whim at 17 and accidentally changed his entire life path. He has a degree in Film, Television, and Theatre and a Musical Theatre Minor from the University of Notre Dame.

He has formal training in performing Commedia dell'arte, Laban Movement, Viewpoints, and more. Since graduating, he has performed in a wide variety of stage and screen productions throughout Chicago.

Shakespeare

Shakespeare has always held a special place in James' heart. He has performed in and trained with the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival for multiple years in a row. He also recently completed a Shakespeare intensive at LAMDA, where he spent hundreds of hours learning from the best London has to offer. One day, you'll see him on The Globe stage. That's a promise.

Music

There is always a tune running through James' head. Throughout high school, he was in the honors chamber choir, and then performed in multiple musical theatre productions in college. He is an avid ukulele and piano player, and is currently learning the guitar and banjo.

New Work

James has an intense passion for creating, workshopping, and performing original work. He has workshopped multiple original productions, ranging from black-box one acts to big band musicals, as well as performed in and collaborated with the production team on all. The process of working with a new script and adjusting on the fly is one he embraces wholeheartedly.

Improv

In 2024, James graduated from of The Second City's Improv conservatory. Through this year-long program he performed full-length improv shows to audiences ranging from dozens packed into a bar to hundreds filling a mainstage theatre.
